Einstein once said: “Everyone is a genius. But if you judge a fish on its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.”
How many times have you met people who have God-given abilities that you don’t possess? More importantly how often do you forget about the God-given abilities that you have? I think too many times people forget how gifted they really are. Instead of constantly thinking of yourself as the “fish that doesn’t know how to climb”, we need to focus on our God-given ability to swim with no effort (or any other gift we were given).
I’m often asked to give feedback on an individual’s business plan and I sense a common trend among many of them. Most business plans are focused on so many different moving parts that what ends up happening is that you fall behind on the expectations. And the moment you do this, you give up on the plan. So the key is to keep your plan simple, clear and attainable, yet somewhat of a stretch. You want to constantly focus on beating your own prior bests.
With only a few days away from entering a New Year, here is a simple assessment that can help evaluate your 2012 plan and make it one the greatest years of your life.
