The Story
1978
Tehran, Iran
Patrick Bet‑David was born into a country already fracturing at the seams. The Iranian Revolution didn't wait for anyone to grow up. His parents were young, their marriage already strained. He came into the world right as Iran was about to change forever.
1989
Erlangen, Germany
He was eleven. His parents had divorced. His mother took him to a refugee camp in Germany. He said goodbye to his father. Not knowing if they'd see each other again. They had left with almost nothing. Patrick was growing up in a country where he didn't speak the language, in a camp that wasn't home.
1990s
America
His family moved to the States and settled in Inglewood, California. His father, who eventually made it to the U.S., worked as a cashier at a 99‑cent store. His mother received welfare. Patrick graduated high school with a 1.8 GPA. Not because he couldn't think. Math, calculus, and precalculus came easy. Math analysis was even his favorite subject. The classroom just wasn't where his head was. At twelve, he was collecting cans and bottles to help pay bills. No trust fund. No network. No safety net.
1997
U.S. Army, 101st Airborne
After high school, he enlisted. The 101st Airborne Division. The Army gave him structure when his life had offered very little. He learned discipline from the outside in, and then rebuilt it from the inside out. He found out that he could. More than endure. He was good under pressure.
2001
Morgan Stanley
After the Army, he went into financial services. He walked through the doors of Morgan Stanley the day before 9/11. Morgan Stanley taught him how money moved, how products were sold, how an industry operated from the inside. He got good fast. But he kept asking a question no one around him seemed to be asking: why was he building someone else's business?
2007
Meeting Jennifer
Their first date was December 29, 2007. On their second, he handed her a book: 101 Questions to Ask Before You Get Engaged. He told her there were fifty answers that mattered to him. He wasn't there to date. He was there to find a wife. If that wasn't what she wanted, they were done that day. She came back a week later. Six hours. Every question. On June 26, 2009, they were married.
2009
PHP Agency
He founded PHP Agency during the recession. With 66 agents and an idea that the insurance industry was broken and someone needed to fix it. In the years that followed, he built it to more than 60,000 agents across 49 states.
2012
Valuetainment
He started a YouTube channel not to go viral but to say things that weren't being said. Valuetainment became the number one entrepreneurship channel on YouTube. Nearly a billion views. A media company built around the belief that business and values belong in the same conversation.
2020
The PBD Podcast
The podcast launched during a moment when people were desperate for honest conversation. He gave them that. Presidents, billionaires, champions, and outliers sat across from him. He asked the tough questions other hosts wouldn't, always with respect, never pulling punches. The audience grew because the honesty didn't stop. That same year, he published Your Next Five Moves, a Wall Street Journal bestseller that became the strategy playbook entrepreneurs around the world still use today.
2012–2021
Family
Patrick and Jennifer married in 2009. Four children followed: Patrick Gabriel, Dylan, Senna, and Brooklyn Ivy. A home rooted in faith, discipline, and the belief that how you lead at home is how you lead everywhere.
2022
PHP Agency Exit
Everyone said the recession was the wrong time to start. He proved them wrong then. In 2022, he proved something else: he knew when to sell. On June 27, 2022, the day after their wedding anniversary, Patrick and Jennifer stood in Monaco and sold PHP Agency to Integrity Marketing Group for a quarter billion dollars. She helped build it. He scaled it. Together, they exited it. He stayed in the game as a partner, with equity still on the table. One chapter closed. The next was already in motion.
2024
New York Yankees
The portfolio grew beyond companies and into championships. Patrick became a minority owner of the New York Yankees, one of the most recognized organizations in the world. He studies what winning looks like at scale and then invests in it.
2026
The Next Chapter
The Lion Holdings flywheel is turning and the ecosystem is expanding across every front. Minnect has reached 46 countries. The Vault Conference is on its way to becoming the largest business expo in the world with 12,000 entrepreneurs attending. The campus is becoming something no one saw coming: a 500‑seat auditorium, a penthouse, a helicopter pad, a hangar with floor‑to‑ceiling windows, and two‑level mezzanine office spaces. What started with his social media manager and a camera is now a global operation.
