The Great Debate: Who Creates Jobs? Patrick Bet-David’s talk on the Startup Entrepreneur Tour
Plato once said “One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors.” A politician is great at turning a molehill into a mountain. A leader is great at talking about matters that affects everyone from the top to the bottom. With all these presidential debates going on, the real question is who is talking about matters that affect 100% of Americans? It’s easy to fall for a candidate who campaigns around something that can help them win the election instead of leading a nation. The only question asked during the FOX News debate about the economy was towards Marco Rubio. He gave a great answer but when will any of these moderators starting asking questions that affects everyone instead of asking the question that gets the most attention in the news the next day.
Trump and Tiger woods have one thing in common. They were both able to get the attention of people who never cared for that event before. Tiger turned golf into what it is today by being the Jordan of that sport. Trump is getting people to pay attention to politics like no one has done since Ross Perot. He’s done a great job to bring a ton of attention to politics from those who never cared to know anything about politics, which is good. However, let’s not forget that this is a Presidential election and the moderators need to hold the potential candidates to a higher level of standard.
The one topic I chose to talk about during the 10,000 mile tour last month was who creates JOBS? One side is telling us that the solution is a big government while the other is saying that we can stand on our own two feet. Who is right?
Here’s my argument in this video.
About the tour: Patrick Bet-David and his production team took off on a 30 day, 10,000 mile trip across the U.S. The reason? Inspire more people to become entrepreneurs.
