1. Senna

   1. Ayrton Senna, the Brazilian motor-racing champion, was one of the greatest of all time. He was the Michael Jordan of Formula One. His legacy is one that Brazil still celebrates today. After he died, his foundation funded 12 million children to get an education in Brazil. The challenge for everybody watching this documentary is to watch how this man wanted to find out what the best version of himself looked like. That’s all he was after. He wanted to find out, “What can I look like if I give my best to this game?” and he ended up finding out about it. The mindset that Senna had can help any entrepreneur.

2. Supermensch: The Legend of Shep Gordon

   1. Business is all about marketing. You are probably asking who is Shep Gordon? Everybody in Hollywood wished he was their friend or representing them. He took marketing personalities and stars to a whole other level and made some of the biggest names even bigger. The film drives home the point that storytelling can make or break a business.

3. Pumping Iron

   1. Pumping Iron is the story of Arnold before he became the action star and governor of California. The movie shows glimpses into Arnold’s personality and work ethic, that then he rode all the way to the governor’s mansion in Sacramento. It is entertaining to watch, but it will teach you a lot about business and life along the way.

4. Four Days in October

   1. Probably one of the most impossible stories in sports history. In 2004 the Red Sox were down three games to one against the Yankees in the World Series. They rallied off three straight wins to take home the title of World Champions and shatter the curse of the Bambino, Babe Ruth. It was Kevin Millar, not one of the stars on the team, that rallied the team and changed the spirit of the team. A great lesson for entrepreneurs if you need a shot of inspiration.

5. The ’85 Bears

   1. The documentary recounts the internal strife the World Champion ’85 Chicago Bears faced in the locker room and how they worked together to overcome their differences to be written into the history books. It is a great example of how sometimes management makes decisions that you don’t agree with, but you still must find a way to work through it. A great movie to watch with your team.

6. Becoming Zlatan

   1. Zlatan Ibrahimovic is one of the most famous soccer players in the world. One stand out moment from the film is when Zlatan, at age 16, is with his agent about to sign his first pro contract and he is telling his middle-aged agent to not be nervous, calm down, and remember that they belong here. Zlatan is a character that young entrepreneurs can learn from and emulate.  

7. Evocateur: The Morton Downey Jr. Movie

   1. Son of a world famous singer, Morton Downey Jr. raged against his father’s shadow and became one of the biggest TV hosts in history. But the documentary also chronicles his fall and why you probably only remember Oprah and Phil Donahue today. It is a cautionary tale warning the viewer to always be critical about wanting more attention at all costs.

8. The Smartest Guys in the Room: The Enron Story

   1. In the film, the documentarians show a time in American business when every big company was doing what Enron was doing, they just happened to get caught. Use this documentary as a warning to avoid these practices because all it takes is one time and you have to start all over from the beginning.

9. Seeing Allred

   1. The story of Gloria Allred, the high power lawyer who has settled lawsuits equaling a quarter of a billion dollars in her career. She is a true believer in herself and justice. This movie will make you think about true believers in a whole different way.

10. I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead

    1. It tells the story of Steve Aoki’s journey from a regular guy into a DJ worth $28 million. The documentary presents not only his rise to fame but his incredible family life and the huge shadow his father cast over him.
